Description

Although the Col du Soulor is usually climbed from its eastern side via Argelès-Gazost, this variant of the route allows you to reach it from the Northern slope. The first stage involves a hard ascent through the Col des Spandelles forest from Bergons Valley. This is followed by a short respite before attacking Soulor there you can make the most of the secret and charming Ouzoum Valley, known for its exploitation of iron ore reserves in Ferrières throughout the last century. After 13 km muscle-strengthening climb, you can take advantage of the view from the Col du Soulor, a hill climbed and won for the first time in the Tour de France of 1912 by the famous Eugène Christophe.
